In a subdued way, but with rousing results, Willeford had virtually everyone attending the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum on their feet when he asked who would do the same thing he did. “We are the NRA,” he said. “We are the people that stand between the people that would do evil to our neighbors. … Every one of you would do what I did, and I love you all.”
NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris Cox presented Willeford with a Life membership and a plaque in recognition of his efforts. That came in addition to the fact that he received an engraved Henry rifle from Anthony Imperato of Henry Repeating Arms the night before at the NRA Foundation Banquet.
If you weren’t one of the thousands who attended the Leadership Forum in person, you can watch Willeford’s humble message here.
