Kim Rhode Wins ISSF World Cup

It took a shoot-off to do it, but Kim Rhode stayed cool in the Tucson, Ariz., desert to outlast her teammate Caitlin Connor for the top spot during the women’s skeet shooting portion of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup earlier this month.

Connor was ahead of Rhode in the last round of shooting, but Rhode capitalized on Connor’s late miss to tie the score and force the shoot-off.

Rhode, an NRA Board of Directors member, shot first in the do-or-die round, scoring two hits, which Connor matched. In the next go-round, Rhode again aced both skeet while Connor missed one.

In the men’s skeet division, Jongjun Lee held off Giancarlo Tazza to win by one point.

The upcoming World Championship will be in Korea starting Aug. 31.
