Buying guns found later at a shooting and an armed robbery as well as with a convicted felon, an Illinois man is going to prison after pleading guilty to giving false information to a licensed firearms dealer.

Despite living in public housing where firearms were prohibited, the man gave a false address “when he purchased eight handguns and one long gun.”

Prosecutors “presented evidence before U.S. District Judge Sara Darrow that one of the guns that Davis purchased was later recovered at the scene of an armed robbery in Peoria, while another was recovered at the scene of a shooting in Peoria. Other firearms were in the possession of a convicted felon.”

The man was convicted and sentenced to serve a four-year prison term.
