Billboard No. 1 Country artist and avid outdoorsman Lucas Hoge has a lot on his plate. Between a vibrant music career that has him performing for audiences all over the country and filming new episodes for his TV show Hoge Wild, it’s rare that he gets a day off. Yet, you won’t hear Hoge complain about the work; he acknowledges he gets to do some amazing things. In 2019, he performed prior to President Donald Trump’s speech at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum, graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry and spent his 12th year touring overseas entertaining our troops. He took a mule deer in New Mexico and went diving in the Cayman Islands. You can follow along with Lucas on these incredible adventures by watching Hoge Wild on the Sportsman Channel. The NRA Country’s Vanessa Shahidi grabbed a few moments of Hoge’s time while he geared up for the next TV season.
VS: Do you have a favorite personal firearm? LH: Definitely my .54-caliber blackpowder Hawken rifle.
VS: You’ve had some amazing experiences while filming for your show, Hoge Wild. What is one memory that pops to mind as a favorite? LH:We did a wreck dive of the USS Kittiwake (ASR-13) in the Carribean. It was a U.S. Navy Chanticleer-class submarine rescue vessel. Diving through the history—literally—was an experience I’ll never forget and I feel blessed.
VS: Tell us what’s coming up from Lucas Hoge. What should fans be excited to watch for? LH: New music, a lot more live shows and Hoge Wild premiering on Sportsman Channel this June! We’ll be in New Zealand, Bolivia, Africa and scuba diving in the coolest locations. The show also focuses on conservation! I want to change the narrative and show the world why we hunt, preparing the harvest and why hunters are the best conservationists in the world. You can always learn more at lucashoge.com.
