Suppressors are to guns what mufflers are to cars. On average, suppressors lessen a 165 dB sound into a 135 dB sound—the equivalent of going from a jet engine to a jackhammer.
A recent news update at the NRA-ILA website is encouraging gun owners to contact their senators and representatives to urge them to support and cosponsor the Hearing Protection Act.
The bills, which stalled in Congress last session, are back on the agenda.
