A homeowner on Detroit’s west side shot an intruder who was holding him and his wife at gunpoint during a robbery on Monday evening.
Six years ago, Rick Ector—a firearm trainer in Detroit—started an event called Legally Armed. Participants receive free training, including one-on-one instruction with an expert plus time at the shooting range.
The FBI has stopped another planned lone-wolf terror attack on U.S. soil, this time in Detroit.
Several months ago, Detroit Chief of Police James Craig urged citizens to get their concealed-carry permits, stating, “The message should be that, you know, people are going to protect themselves. They’re tired, they’ve been dealing with this epidemic of violence, they’re afraid and they have a right to protect themselves.” Evidently at least one person took that message to heart, and an armed thug is now deceased.
It’s known as the home of the big three automakers, but last Monday it was also the scene of a failed carjacking.
