Pennsylvania RTKBA Rally Set For Monday

Since 2006, Pennsylvania gun owners and Second Amendment supporters have been gathering annually at the state capitol in Harrisburg to send a message to legislators that gun control has no place in the Commonwealth. The 11th Annual Right to Keep and Bear Arms Rally—hosted by NRA and other pro-gun groups across the state—is scheduled for next Monday, May 22.

Court Victory For Cleveland Gun Owners

A Cleveland, Ohio, gun control package was struck down by the Ohio 8th District Court of Appeals Thursday. The package of 11 laws, passed by the City Council in 2015 after a spate of criminal violence, contained several onerous provisions, such as a stricter definition of “automatic weapons”; a prohibition against firing a gun within 500 feet of a park, playground or recreation center; the requirement that private individuals report the sale of firearms to the city, thus creating a de facto firearms registry; and more.

Pennsylvania Pre-Emption Bill Moves Forward

Keystone State lawmakers passed House Bill 671 on Wednesday, sending it to the full House for consideration. Sponsored by state Rep. Mark Keller, HB 671 would ensure that firearm and ammunition laws are consistent throughout the state by preventing municipalities from enacting local ordinances that are stricter than the state law.
