As you and I survey the current landscape surrounding our Second Amendment freedom in this country, it’s impossible not to be optimistic and proud of what we’ve all accomplished together as NRA members.
You and I are now in the battle of our lives. Two of the most extreme, gun-hating politicians in America—Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer—control the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Anti-gun legislation is on the move in Washington, D.C., like we haven’t seen in a generation.
Freedom is best expressed through our actions, deeds and words. And so, in that spirit, I am proud to write today to address the actions we are pursuing to ensure the NRA remains vital in the fight to protect America’s first freedom.
As NRA members, you and I have a battle-hardened understanding of what it takes to defend freedom—forged over our many years fighting in the political trenches.
“I have the endorsement of the NRA, which I’m very proud of. These are very, very good people, and they’re protecting the Second Amendment.”
— President Donald J. Trump
A new survey from Rasmussen says, “Over one-fifth of Americans who have a gun in their household have added one since late May and feel safer [emphasis is ours] because they’ve done so.”
