On July 8, the 2022 NRA National Matches will kick off its second year of competition in the Hoosier State. 

With National Police Week this month, I would like to shine a spotlight on the NRA’s long history of supporting law enforcement officers. Over the past year, our country’s brave men and women in law enforcement have dealt with large-scale civil unrest and long hours.

From ensuring proper training to hosting competitive shoots, division offers an array of support for uniformed forces.

U.S. Border Patrol Senior Agent Robert Vadasz won his 10th consecutive title as the overall champion of the 57th NRA National Police Shooting Championships.

NRA members, we are at a crossroads in this country. Either we will prevail in elections this year—saving our nation and preserving our way of life, or if the anti-gun crowd triumphs, America as we have known it will vanish.

NRA is fully engaged every day protecting and fighting for our freedom. As we fight those battles, thanks to your support, it is easy to lose sight of all the NRA is also doing for gun safety (actual gun safety, not how anti-gunners use the term).

In this second installment of my monthly update from General Operations, I wish to recognize the hundreds of thousands of competitive shooters who exemplify the traditions of the first NRA Creedmoor Matches held in April 1873.

NRA's Tactical Police Competition is more than just a shooting match, as participants learn valuable lessons that could someday save their lives—and the lives of others.
