On September 21, the Biden Administration filed an amicus brief in the pending U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) case of New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, supporting New York’s draconian and unconstitutional restrictions on the right to bear firearms in public for self-defense.
The boundaries that have defined the gun debate are fracturing. One demonstration of this is the amicus brief filed by the Black Attorneys of Legal Aid (BALA), the Bronx Defenders and others in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA) v. Bruen, now before the U.S. Supreme Court. Bruen is a challenge to New York’s expensive and restrictive firearms permitting scheme.
Together, we must remind politicians that they work for us, the American people.
The U.S. Supreme Court is to decide if local officials can simply deny our Second Amendment rights.
