As the Democratic Party’s primaries play out and we move toward a presidential election in November, it’s worth considering the many successes President Donald J. Trump and the U.S. Senate, under Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), have had nominating and appointing judges who know it’s their job to interpret the U.S. Constitution and the law, not to behave as legislators with lifetime appointments.

In late May, Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., bravely proclaimed, “I’m running for re-election to the U.S. Senate here in Massachusetts, and I pledge not to take a single penny from the National Rifle Association.” Her video appeared on news site NowThis.

As I’m sure you’re already aware, the ongoing challenges presented by COVID-19 and its variants forced us to cancel the 2021 NRA Annual Meetings in Houston—a huge disappointment to us all.

The Second Amendment is, and has always been, a constitutional right New Yorkers also need.

Without mainstream-media cover, President Joe Biden (D) probably wouldn’t say things like this: “Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun-law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.” (Emphasis is ours.)

You know it as well as I do—politicians let you down. Principles never do. And it’s by fighting on principle that the National Rifle Association is the oldest and most successful civil rights organization in the history of mankind.

I’m going to be perfectly blunt: The next two years are going to be rough for those of us who cherish our right to keep and bear arms. The Senate is split at 50-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris poised to break any ties in favor of her boss, Joe Biden.
