As NRA members and patriots who love our country and all the good it has done for Americans and for the rest of the world, we all know a fundamental decision will be made when we go to the polls in a few short days.

On November 3, millions of Americans will exercise their constitutional right to vote for their candidate for president of the United States in possibly the most consequential election of modern times.

As an active wife, mother and grandmother, I am often asked what inspired me to serve our great organization as NRA President. In a word, that answer is you—the over 5-million-strong NRA family of members—my fellow patriots.

It is hard to believe we are past the halfway mark of 2020—a year full of challenges and changes to our everyday lives that only a few months ago would have seemed unimaginable.

Sadly, so much has happened in our world since my last column to you.

The right to protect myself and my family, and the hunting and outdoors traditions we all enjoy in America, have shaped my life since my childhood and through today.

I have had the distinct honor to serve as your president during the past year. It is a responsibility that I don’t take lightly—leading the millions of men and women of the oldest civil rights organization in America.

In February, Americans celebrate Presidents Day to pay tribute to the leaders of our great nation—their lives and achievements.

NRA members, we are at a crossroads in this country. Either we will prevail in elections this year—saving our nation and preserving our way of life, or if the anti-gun crowd triumphs, America as we have known it will vanish.
