The Second Amendment is, and has always been, a constitutional right New Yorkers also need.

The NRA’s founders in 1871 may not have foreseen the political importance of the organization they created, but we owe them our gratitude.

Without mainstream-media cover, President Joe Biden (D) probably wouldn’t say things like this: “Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun-law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.” (Emphasis is ours.)

You know it as well as I do—politicians let you down. Principles never do. And it’s by fighting on principle that the National Rifle Association is the oldest and most successful civil rights organization in the history of mankind.

I’m going to be perfectly blunt: The next two years are going to be rough for those of us who cherish our right to keep and bear arms. The Senate is split at 50-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris poised to break any ties in favor of her boss, Joe Biden.

As this was going to print, it looked like Joe Biden would be our next president, with Kamala Harris as his vice president.

As we head into December and the end of a year that has challenged America like no other, we are provided a stark reminder that time doesn’t stand still.

In a sadly predictable plot twist, The New York Times’ Editorial Board’s activists turned on their own to drive out a few voices who still dared, ever so carefully mind you, to follow their intellectual honesty away from the politically correct orthodoxy of the far left.
