Rather than nominating a respected, veteran law-enforcement agent to run the ATF, Biden once again prefers a puppet who will pursue a partisan gun-control agenda.

The correct response to the news that a private citizen has stopped a would-be mass murderer is: “Thank you.” It is not to lament that the citizen’s “split-second heroism has been turned into a PR tool by gun advocates.”

Having failed for decades to induce the voting public to back its draconian and unconstitutional agenda, the American gun-control movement has hit upon a pernicious alternative to persuasion and political argument: Fear.

Government failures before, and during, the attack at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are discounted when trying to explain why the shooting happened.
