Stolen Gun Goes On Berserk Personal Rampage, Kills 2, Injures 4

posted on October 8, 2016

Those pesky guns—some just seem to have a violent mind of their own.

At least that seems to be what many in the so-called “mainstream” media think, including Annie Sweeney, who authored a feature for Friday’s Chicago Tribune titled “One Gun’s Journey—42 Bullets Fired, 2 Killed, 5 Wounded.” The story tells of a Glock handgun stolen from a safe in a young woman’s apartment. Unexpectedly, the gun then went on a rampage of its own.

“Over the next year, that Glock would fire 42 bullets, leaving shell casings scattered on walkways, porches and side streets,” Sweeney wrote.

Of course, the gun didn’t actually fire itself—violent criminals used the tool to kill and terrorize. But such facts apparently have to be follow-up material only to media outlets that want their readers to believe that murders are the fault of guns and law-abiding gun owners, not violent criminals.
