Armed Indiana Homeowner Stops Intruder

posted on February 8, 2017

It seems that more and more often lately, violent criminals are making bad decisions when choosing which homes to invade—and last Thursday was another good example.

An Elwood, Ind., homeowner was fortunate he owned a firearm and knew how to use it when an intruder broke into his home about 9:30 that evening. According to local media reports, the homeowner shot the man, who immediately fled the scene. He was later taken to an area hospital with a chest wound.

One armed neighbor had a warning for other burglars and home invaders. “This is a little bit of a redneck town; you might get yourself shot,” said Tim Huntington, a neighbor to the armed citizen who stopped the intruder.
