Alabama: Minor Amendment To Minor Gun Law

posted on April 2, 2015

How can you teach your children proper handgun safety, handling or shooting if they can’t legally hold the gun? That concern has led to new legislation recently introduced in the Alabama House and Senate.

Current law states no person “shall deliver a pistol to any person under the age of 18.” HB 328 and SB 262 would amend that to say it does not apply to minors who have the consent of their parents or guardians. Bill sponsors are Rep. Ed Henry and Sen. Arthur Orr.
