While the NSSF was gearing up for the opening of their annual SHOT Show on Monday in Las Vegas, more than 2,500 miles away several anti-gun groups descended upon the organization’s headquarters to protest the group’s “irresponsible marketing and lobbying efforts” and what they see as interference with efforts to increase gun control.

But while the freezing temperatures were little deterrent to the gun-banners, they also didn’t keep away a number of pro-gun supporters, dozens of whom had already gathered with signs of their own by the time the rally was set to begin.

That the demonstration was peaceful didn’t diminish the falsehoods being peddled by the protestors, however. In a statement, NSSF reiterated that the SHOT Show is not open to the public, and explained, “Many programs and services exhibited at the show are related to the safety of the public … we are proud of our many successful firearms safety initiatives.”
