posted on April 30, 2016

A senior citizen in Snohomish County, Wash., used her gun Thursday night to stop a home intruder who had just stabbed her husband.

According to local media reports, the stranger broke into the home hoping to burglarize it. After entering, he stabbed the 75-year-old homeowner. But before he could commit any more mayhem, the homeowner’s wife retrieved her gun and shot the intruder once, killing him on the spot.

Neither the woman nor the couple’s 45-year-old son, who also was home, was injured in the attack.
