Armed Citizen Stops Indiana Home Invasion

posted on October 20, 2015

When two armed men forced their way into an upstairs apartment in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Monday, the occupants of the apartment were ready and willing to fight back. Shots were fired by at least one of the intruders, prompting return fire from one of the three adults in the apartment. While none of the occupants were injured, one intruder was found by officers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The wounded suspect is listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Officers at the scene recovered a shotgun, which is believed to have been used by one of the men breaking into the apartment. The second suspect fled the scene and has not been found by officers.
