Armed Cleveland Deli Clerk Stops Robbers

posted on April 2, 2016

A Cleveland, Ohio, deli clerk used his privately owned handgun to stop an attempted armed robbery Wednesday night.

According to local media reports, the clerk, who asked to remain anonymous, was approached in the store at about 9:45 by two armed men demanding money. Fearing for his life and the life of his friend, the clerk pulled his own gun.

The deli owner told Cleveland.com that if he hadn’t been armed, he truly believes he wouldn’t have survived the encounter. “I was so panicked and scared,” the clerk told Cleveland.com. “They would have killed both of us. What’s going to stop them?”
