Armed Homeowner Stops Crowbar-Wielding Intruder

posted on July 16, 2016

A Phoenix home with a broken back door damaged in a previous break-in made for the perfect target, allowing a crowbar-wielding intruder easy access. But when the homeowner awakened to find the home invader, he didn’t hesitate—he grabbed his gun and began firing.

One of the shots struck the intruder in the leg, and the homeowner held the man at gunpoint until the police arrived. Investigators said it was unclear whether the two men knew each other. The homeowner was questioned and released, while the intruder remains in serious condition at a local hospital.
