A homeowner—and gun owner—in Muncie, Ind., shot a home intruder Friday morning, ending the break-in.

According to local media reports, the man shot another man as he was trying to break into the homeowner’s residence. A few minutes later, a 22-year-old Muncie man arrived at a local emergency room seeking treatment for a bullet wound to one of his legs.

According to police reports, the wounded man and an accomplice had allegedly tried to burglarize that residence, but were confronted by the occupant. They say the shooting apparently took place during a struggle.
