A woman was at home with her brother and two children in northeast Indianapolis when the father of one of the children kicked in the door. As he attempted to enter the house, the brother shot him once.

The suspect fled to a nearby home and requested assistance, while the shooter pursued him. The alleged offender was taken to a hospital and is in good condition, while the armed citizen is not facing any charges.

While authorities haven’t completely explained the background to this incident, it appears that this man successfully used a firearm to guarantee his family’s safety—a common occurrence throughout the country these days.
