Armed N.C. Man Stops Robbery

posted on February 20, 2016

When three armed men entered a Pitt County, N.C., mobile home on Tuesday night with robbery in mind, they met unexpected resistance from the home’s occupants.

According to police reports, Mary Johnson; her boyfriend, Nathaniel Rembert; and their 14-month-old son were in the living room when three men knocked open the locked screen door. Johnson grabbed the baby and ran to the back of the mobile home, and Rembert retrieved his revolver and fired several shots at the intruders. The men dropped their shotgun and ran away.

Two of the intruders have been charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and a third man is expected to face the same charges when he is released from the hospital.
