posted on December 5, 2016

A Texas man shot and killed a man trying to break into his house last Thursday night, and police are calling the shooting a case of self-defense.

The Round Rock, Texas, homeowner told police that around 10:30 p.m., he was inside the house with his significant other when they found out her ex-boyfriend was in the backyard. When the homeowner, armed with a gun, went to investigate, the man tried to force his way into the home. The homeowner fired two shots, putting a stop to the home invasion.

Authorities said that at this time they don’t expect to file any charges in relation to the shooting, and the case is being referred to the district attorney’s office.
