Two home intruders were stopped dead in their tracks by an armed woman inside the home they were attempting to rob in West Forest Township, Mich.

According to police, the suspects rang the doorbell of the woman’s home last Wednesday, but the resident decided not to answer. Likely assuming no one was home, the men went around to the side of the house, entered the screened in porch and kicked in the door.

To the home invaders’ surprise, they were met by a woman pointing a pistol straight at them, said Bay County Undersheriff Troy Cunningham. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown getaway car and the resident never had to fire a shot.

Within just a few days of this crime, at least two other home invasions have been reported, and the investigations are ongoing.
