Bakery Robbery Ends With Suspect Shot

posted on July 23, 2015

A man allegedly tried to steal the tip jar from Barranquitas Mini Bakery in Hartford, Conn., leading the owner to chase him down the street. Authorities say that the suspect, Marcus Torres, fought with the owner and appears to have motioned at one point as if he were drawing a weapon, at which point the owner shot him in the leg.

No one else was injured in the scuffle. Torres was treated and is being charged with attempted robbery and assault, while the owner is not facing charges.
