“We’re probably not going to get much more done in the next nine months,” admitted Vice President Joe Biden about gun control. Speaking at a forum convened by the White House to share the Obama administration’s strategy on “gun violence” prevention, Biden urged state and local officials Tuesday, “Don’t quit on this.”
As talk turned toward “smart guns,” Biden praised the technology and condemned those opposed. “It’s amazing the pressure that’s being brought by the NRA and others not to allow this technology to go forward,” he complained. “We should not be cowed.”
Of course, that’s untrue. The vice president was also forced to admit, however begrudgingly, that “there is a Second Amendment” and it “must be upheld.” Naturally, he prefaced those remarks with a “whether you like it or not” qualifier that tells us exactly what side of the fence he stands on … the side opposite of “we the people.”
