CA: Senate Is Next Chance To Stop Becerra AG Confirmation

posted on January 16, 2017

The California State Assembly last week approved the confirmation of rabidly anti-gun U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra as California’s next attorney general by a party-line vote of 56 to 23.

We told you last week how Becerra has consistently voted against the rights of gun owners and hunters during his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives. With the current political climate in California, it’s imperative that the next attorney general respect the constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights of California citizens, and Becerra certainly would not.

A hearing by the Senate Rules committee is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Capitol in room 113. NRA-ILA urges California gun owners to please contact their state senator and ask him or her to oppose the confirmation of Becerra as California’s next attorney general.
