Congressional Defenders Of Due Process Put On Blast In New Radio Ads

posted on December 15, 2015

If you live in one of ten battleground congressional districts, your commute may soon become even less bearable. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has purchased radio time to run a series of 15-second spots attacking Republicans opposed to preventing those on the Terrorism Watch List from purchasing firearms. An infuriating DCCC press release refers to the reason for these votes (aka the constitutional guarantee of due process) as a “loophole,” then explains the ads will provide phone numbers to encourage constituents to reach out to those who “voted to keep allowing suspected terrorists to buy assault rifles.”

Meredith Kelly, DCCC national spokesperson, says these ads will be the “first of many to highlight the reckless position that these vulnerable Republicans have taken on this national security issue.” We’d posit that an attempt to relegate the Second Amendment to the dustbin of history—and send the Fifth and Fourteenth with it—is the real reckless position.
