Conn: Gun-Ban Group Offers 28 More Anti-Gun Tactics

posted on December 17, 2015

As if Connecticut’s gun-ban Gov. Dannel Malloy didn’t have enough bad ideas on how to curtail his citizens’ right to keep and bear arms, the rabidly anti-gun and grossly misnamed Centers for American Progress is feeding him even more suggestions for restrictions.

The so-called “progressive think tank” issued a 28-point “framework” it says will curtail gun violence, including requiring monthly background checks for concealed-carry permit holders, implementing a lethality assessment program for police officers responding to domestic violence calls, requiring background checks for all sales at gun shows and implementing a violence-intervention program in local hospital emergency rooms for gunshot victims.

While Malloy was rubbing his hands with glee (“These are great proposals,” he gushed), it’s obvious that most, if not all, would only affect law-abiding citizens, not criminals. Of course, Malloy likely knows that—he simply doesn’t care about the rights of Connecticut gun owners if throwing them under the bus might earn him political points.
