Dem Platform Committee Member Says No One Should Have Guns

posted on June 11, 2016

While presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton likes to say she doesn’t want to take guns from law-abiding citizens, some of those charged with crafting the Democratic Party platform apparently have a different idea.

In a response to a question on Wednesday at a planning event, Bonnie Schaefer, one member of the 15-member Platform Drafting Committee, said, “I do believe that you’re absolutely correct—not just keeping the guns out of mentally ill people and criminals, but I really don’t personally think anyone should have a gun. I mean, that’s just my own philosophy. Nothing is ever solved when you have a gun in your hand except the worst possible scenario.”

Like her boss, Clinton, Schaefer apparently ignores the thousands of law-abiding, armed Americans who have saved their lives and the lives of others with firearms. Perhaps she should spend a little time reading our “Armed Citizen” section before popping off again.
