Durham Apartment Resident Shoots Intruder

posted on September 19, 2015

An apparent home invader was killed in an apartment complex near Duke University in Durham, N.C. According to Time Warner Cable News, the suspect entered an apartment around 1:30 a.m. and reportedly hit one of the residents in the head, at which point one of the roommates pulled a gun and pointed it at the intruder. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect was shot and died at the scene.

Police are investigating and have not charged the resident who shot the suspect. The apartment complex was the site of an incident last month in which a security guard was shot several times and seriously wounded.
