posted on February 5, 2016

When two armed robbers attempted to rob a Temple Terrace, Fla., man while he was unloading groceries from his car, the fact that the victim had a gun and knew how to use it might have saved his life.

The two suspects grabbed Luis Enrique Alonso in front of his home, and one pointed a handgun at him. Alonso grabbed the robber’s gun and and tried to take it from him.

According to police, Alonso then drew his own gun and exchanged shots with the robbers, who quickly ran away. Alonso was treated at the scene for a minor thumb injury, and the police are still looking for the suspects.
