Florida Streamlines CCW System; Permits Can Now Be Renewed Online

posted on December 9, 2016

Florida’s 1.6 million concealed-carry license holders can now renew their licenses online, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam announced Wednesday, making Second Amendment protection much more accessible to the more than 200,000 Floridians whose licenses will expire next year, WUFT.org reports

“We felt strongly that something needed to happen,” said Marion Hammer, executive director of Unified Sportsmen of Florida and former president of the NRA. “We are delighted to hear [Putnam’s] announcement today.”

Sean Caranna, executive director of Florida Carry Inc., said “one of the major problems with licenses” was that “people would have to take a day off from work to renew, just because the offices usually aren’t open on weekends.” Floridians may now renew their licenses at 41 tax collector offices, eight regional Department of Agriculture offices, through the mail or online.
