Georgia Mom Scares Off Intruder With Gun

posted on January 19, 2016

A woman was asleep on the second floor of her home in Savannah, Ga.—along with her three children—when she heard the chime indicating her back door was open. “I grabbed my gun and I went to the stairs and I screamed,” she told WJCL. “I said, ‘I am armed. And I will shoot.’” With her gun in hand, she then found her phone and dialed 911.

Police arrived on the scene quickly and located a suspect on the balcony of an outlying structure. They confirmed that he has a lengthy criminal record, with several counts of theft and burglary. None of the residents of the home were harmed in the incident.
