Hillary Clinton Doubles Down On Heller Decision

posted on June 6, 2016

Most A1F Daily readers will remember that Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton last year said of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in District of Columbia v. Heller— which recognized that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms—“the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment. And I am going to make that case every chance I get.”

Now Clinton has gone even further to proclaim she doesn’t believe the Second protects an individual right of American citizens to bear arms. At a recent Clinton campaign rally at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, Clinton described Heller as “a terrible decision.”

On May 7, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump accurately characterized Clinton’s views on the Second Amendment, telling supporters, “Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment.” In light of how she has referred to the Heller decision on more than one occasion, it’s easy to see that is absolutely true.
