Ho-Hum: Anti-Gun Everytown Endorses Anti-Gun Hillary

posted on June 4, 2016

In the least surprising news of the day, Everytown for Gun Safety has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. It’s the first-ever presidential endorsement for the Michael Bloomberg-funded anti-gun group that is better known for producing shoddy reports and misconstruing facts than for its advocacy.

With Clinton attempting to redefine the Constitution at every opportunity, it’s only fitting that an unconstitutional organization would jump to her defense. Clinton, you’ll remember, has previously urged supporters to “take back the Second Amendment from [NRA] extremists” and warned that “we’ve got to rein in what has become an almost article of faith that anybody can have a gun anywhere, anytime.”

In his endorsement statement for Clinton, Everytown President John Feinblatt showed that he’d been taking copious notes of Clinton’s messaging, as he parroted her words back nearly verbatim when applauding her for “pushing back against the NRA’s extreme ‘guns for everyone, everywhere’ agenda.”
