Homeowner Cocks Gun, Home Invader Pops Up Begging Not To Be Shot

posted on March 31, 2017

An Alabama couple and their children were home sound asleep early Saturday morning when they were awakened by the sound of shattering glass. The homeowner quickly secured his handgun and headed for the living room.

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies told AL.com that once the homeowner cocked the handgun loudly, a man emerged from behind a family room sofa begging not to be shot. After telling the intruder to lie face-to-the-floor, the family called 911.

When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Robert Ryan Delgadillo still lying face-down and took him into custody for first-degree burglary. On inspection, investigators found an open folding knife belonging to the suspect. In addition to the burglary charge, Delgadillo is being held on a non-related probation charge.
