We told you earlier this week how the so-called “Trump Slump” in gun sales has become the “Trump Jump,” with May setting a new record for the number of FBI background checks conducted.
While the trend will likely be ignored by gun haters, some in the media are speculating whether increased terror attacks are leading to the jump. And some gun dealers are answering that question with a resounding “Yes.”
“We are continuing to see brisk sales of self-defense and concealed-carry firearms. We're also continuing to see new gun buyers," Justin Anderson, marketing director for Charlotte, N.C.-based Hyatt Guns, told the Washington Examiner.
"People are nervous about their safety, and rightly so,” Anderson continued. “It's a dangerous world we live in, and American citizens know that we're not immune to terrorist attacks. They're taking the necessary steps to defend themselves. Frankly, the most recent terrorist attack in London underscores the importance of an armed populace. Remember that when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”
