MI: Concealed-Carry Permit Holder Thwarts Carjacker

posted on July 25, 2016

A concealed-carry permit holder used his firearm to fight off a carjacker Thursday night on Detroit’s northwest side.

According to local media reports, a white van followed the victim’s car to a liquor store. The driver of the van waited for the victim to exit the store and approached him with a gun.

The victim saw the gun, grabbed the barrel and fired several times at the armed robber with his own gun, sending him fleeing the scene. “He pulled out his own weapon and started shooting at the attempted carjacker,” Sgt. Robert Wellman of the Detroit Police Department told ClickOnDetroit.com.
