Michigan Man Uses Gun To Stop Home Invasion

A Westland, Mich., man used his privately owned firearm to protect himself from three men who broke into his home on Thursday morning.

According to local media reports, the man told police that the men forced their way into his home, so he shot one of them. In the melee, the resident was shot in the leg.

The wounded intruder and his accomplice fled the home, but were later located at a nearby hospital. According to Westland Police, the injured intruder was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the two men who were with him were placed under arrest for home invasion. The resident was also hospitalized.
