Michigan State Representative Understands The Difference Between Criminals And Law-Abiding Gun Owners

posted on June 13, 2017

While many legislators throughout the country push for more restrictive laws because they don’t see the difference between criminals and law-abiding armed citizens, one Michigan state representative certainly hasn’t fallen into that trap.

As anti-gunners call for legislators to kill Michigan’s permitless carry legislation, Republican Rep. Lee Chatfield is telling it like it is about criminals and armed citizens.

“Criminals do not obey the law. Criminals don’t obey the gun laws we have now. And criminals won’t obey the new gun laws we pass,”  Chatfield was quoted as saying in The Detroit News. “That is why they’re called criminals.

“I wholeheartedly believe allowing law-abiding citizens to have the same freedoms that criminals already do in this state will make our communities safer.”
