In a barefaced and ultimately botched attempt to smear the NRA as “racist”—and thereby divert attention from President Barack Obama’s refusal to enforce federal laws against armed criminals—Huffington Post’s Mike “the Gun Guy” Weisser attacked NRA’s recent response to Obama’s gun-control grandstanding in Chicago (pointing to an error that wasn’t an error), and defended Obama’s gutting of federal gun prosecutions to the lowest levels in a decade, while shootings and murders in the Windy City skyrocket.

Drawing a distinction without a difference, Weisser claimed that in the NRA video, “the picture of ‘Darius Brown’ is actually a picture of Jamal Streeter.” That’s not only incorrect—the picture was of De’Eris Brown, just as NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said, even if Weisser can’t spell—but it’s also irrelevant: The man Weisser inaccurately claimed was in the picture, Terrance Jamal Streeter, was also an armed criminal freed by the system.
