As the 2016 campaign season progresses, attacks on NRA and our Second Amendment rights have been mounting. While the threat of electing an anti-gun president should certainly galvanize us to action, some are considering what we can do to protect our rights in the meantime.

A petition was recently started at StandUnited.org demanding President Barack Obama cease his war on our firearm freedoms. Drafted by the Republican National Committee, it has received over 25,000 signatures, and its message is simple: “Gun violence is bad, but leaving law-abiding citizens with limited means to defend themselves is even worse.”

While Obama may have less than a year left in office, he’s made it clear that gun control will remain a focus until the bitter end. We have a lot of hard work to do leading up to Election Day, but we cannot afford to let him think we’re willing to remain complacent in the meantime. To sign the petition, click here.
