A quick-thinking homeowner in southwest Oklahoma City used his firearm to stop a man from breaking into his home on Christmas Eve.

Seeing the alleged criminal breaking into his house, the homeowner shot the man, who quickly fled. The suspect didn’t get far, though, before he pulled over in the getaway vehicle and called 911 for medical help.

According to local media reports, the suspect is recovering at a hospital and will later be booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
