A King City, Ore., woman used her handgun to run off a man attempting to break into her house early Saturday morning.

According to local media reports, the man is involved in a child custody dispute with the woman, but has never lived at the apartment. When he kicked in the front door of the apartment and attempted to enter, the woman fired one shot, causing him to flee.

Law enforcement officials are still searching for the man, who is believed to be Louis Jarvis Jr., 40.
