On Thursday, Sen. Mike Hilgers introduced a bill into the Nebraska legislature that would ensure that any firearm or ammunition laws passed would be consistent statewide. Legislative Bill 68 is good news for gun owners since, should it pass, it will serve to protect their gun rights.

Without this law on the books, local jurisdictions can adopt restrictions independently that they’re unable to convince state legislators to adopt. As a result, they can not only infringe your Second Amendment rights, but can leave you at risk of violating an ordinance you may not have been aware existed as you travel within the state.
