Spending Big Bucks On Bad Biker Boys

posted on May 21, 2015

Is it possible for a shoot-‘em-up street brawl to be so big that those involved avoid prosecution just because the county doesn’t have enough money to hold dozens upon dozens of trials?

According to reports from Waco, Texas, where a shootout between motorcycle gangs left nine dead and resulted in some 170 arrests, that just might be the case. “The magnitude of the arrests is amazing,” Michael Heiskell, a former federal and state prosecutor, told The Weekly Standard. “It could break the bank in McLennan County. I think when the dust settles you may have maybe a few capital charges filed.”

In the meantime, Waco police officers are remaining alert for more trouble, as two biker gangs have allegedly issued orders to shoot and kill uniformed law enforcement officers there.
